Artist Statement
My work is based around trauma. Working with mixed media from paintings to metal fabrications, I have created an installation in which each piece is a reflection of a poem from a collection I have written, and which is presented in the centre of the room.
I use my experience to express myself in poetry and then create art works based on the poems. This is an approach I have developed over the years, and the viewer can choose which poem fits which art work, if any.
I hope to develop this way of working in my practice by publishing poetry collections and continuing to create installations based on them.
