During lockdown the Isolationists Art Prize competition was launched that invited artists to make artwork in response to the theme Life in Lockdown.

Any observations, reflections on life experienced during this time; whether it be from their own perspective, that of a loved one, a stranger or from another species were all to be considered. Questions  asked of applicants were ..What has become the new normal? have there been any moments of unexpected calm, joy or discovery during this time?
The competition welcomed various interpretations whether they be humorous, sad, satirical, poignant, sublime or absurd.’

The three judges Julie Lomax (CE0 a-n news) Emily Motto (previous micro resident artist Bolton School of the Arts & Bluecoat resident artist 2020) and our very own Dr David Gledhill (co-director Rogue studios, artist & writer) had the difficult job in selecting the winners.

Shortlisted artists for the two categories newcomers award and current student award can now been seen above.
