Artist Statement
I explore notions of consumerism in my work, I used different styles of collage and work primarily in 2D. My practice investigates new process to expand outcomes and achieve a variety of results. I work with screen printing as a method of production, its endless repetitive nature, that relates to consumerism and mass production. I also explore themes and subjects through mixed media collages relating to consumerism using supermarket receipts to build up backgrounds on which to build text and other images. Using text from advertisements and magazines to make up phrases/statements with infectious words in relation to consumerism and its effects in a social context.
